Guimarães is an historic town considered ”World’s
Cultural Heritage” by UNESCO and the birthplace of Portugal. Soon to be
European Capital of Culture (2012), the city hosts a several number of
cultural activities and related events. Before Skilled Art, Guimarães
will host the World Congress on Communication and Arts (WCCA) and the International Conference on Digital Arts, Artech.
Motorways and railways are the most direct means of reaching Guimarães.
By Motorway:
Using the current network of motorways, Oporto can be reached from
Guimarães in 30 minutes via the A7 and A3. Braga is a mere 15 minutes
away on the A11 motorway. Taking the A11 and A3 northbound, Vigo, Spain
is 90 minutes away, and Lisbon is 3 hours to south, via the A7, A3 and
A1 motorways.
By Rail:
Guimarães is part of the modern network of trains that link all cities
in Portugal. All-stop service between Guimarães and Oporto takes
approximately 60 minutes. Check the website of the national railway

Skilled Art will be held in the Centro Cultural Vila Flor, Guimarães, Portugal.
It´s the city´s cultural center, near the train station with regular trains from Porto and two hotels: Hotel Fundador and Hotel de Guimarães.
